Theapeutic Yoga, Yoga near me, Yoga Hagerstown, Yoga Martinsburg, Yoga Greencastle, Yoga Thurmont, Yoga Frederick

We are piloting Yoga Therapy at our Structural Elements® Hagerstown location as part of the (se)® Studio service line, bringing a new one-on-one therapeutic option to our community.

While yoga is already part of the (se)® Studio, Yoga Therapy offers something different: an individualized approach designed around each client’s specific needs, concerns, and goals.

What Is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga Therapy applies the practices and principles of yoga within a one-on-one therapeutic relationship. Clients work with a certified yoga therapist who may use movement, breathwork, mindfulness, meditation, and other yoga-based practices based on the individual and their goals. Unlike a traditional yoga class, where participants generally follow a shared practice, Yoga Therapy begins with assessment, conversation, and collaborative goal setting. From there, the therapist develops an individualized plan designed to support the client’s goals both during sessions and through practices they can continue on their own. And you don’t need previous yoga experience—or a particular level of fitness or flexibility—to participate. Yoga Therapy is designed to meet you where you are.

More Than Movement

Although movement and yoga postures may be part of Yoga Therapy, they are only some of the tools available.

Depending on your individual needs, a session may also incorporate breathing practices, mindfulness, meditation, and other yoga-based techniques. This whole-person approach considers physical, mental, and emotional needs rather than looking at each part of the person separately. That perspective aligns naturally with the (se)® system and our belief in looking at the body as an interconnected whole.

What Can Yoga Therapy Support?

Because Yoga Therapy is individualized, people may come to it with very different needs and goals.

Yoga Therapy may support people experiencing pain or physical limitations, stress, neurological concerns, challenges associated with healthy aging, mental health concerns, or simply a desire to better navigate the demands of modern life. It can also complement other healthcare and wellness services. Yoga therapists do not diagnose medical conditions or provide medical, nutritional, or psychological advice. When appropriate, they can work as part of a broader healthcare team or refer clients to another healthcare professional.

What to Expect

Yoga Therapy at (se)® Hagerstown begins with a 75-minute Initial Assessment with Ginny Ritchie, Yoga Therapist.

Your first visit includes time to discuss your concerns and goals, explore physical structure and breathing patterns, and experiment with practices that may be beneficial for you. Together, you’ll establish personal goals and begin creating an individualized plan that includes practices you can use between sessions. Return sessions provide an opportunity to continue the one-on-one work, build on your plan, assess progress, and adapt practices as your needs and goals evolve.

Yoga Therapy Initial Assessment | 75 minutes | $175

Yoga Therapy Return Session | 50 minutes | $125

As we pilot Yoga Therapy at our Hagerstown location, we look forward to exploring another way to provide individualized, whole-person support within the (se)® Studio.
